Well, actually everything you do changes you. Also not doing things changes you. Basically, every decision you make each day estimates range from less than a hundred into the thousands [depends, what you count] is a point of no return. No:

So the fact music changes You, is kind of obvious, to begin with. Nevertheless, this definition thing is not what I intended to write about. So I don’t.
MUSIC CHANGES YOUR BRAIN
There have been several studies which kind of state: that music, especially making the latter increases your brainpower. Specifically: your neural plasticity. Which means: the ability of your brain to adapt to changes. An increase here is a good thing.
REMEMBERING STUFF
I personally think this is a major point. Especially, if you try not to rely on reading music when practicing but rather: remembering everything. Since I couldn’t read music for more than half the time since starting to make music, I think this juices up your brain memory. At least a tiny bit.
LISTEN & REPEAT
If you at the same time, also try to get what others are playing and try to repeat it: this also could be huge. Also watching others. Very simple. Very straight-forward.
PRACTICING
Just the simple act of practicing teaching you this one basic fact about life: Investing time into something will improve your skills. And it gets hammered into your brain until you: either quit making music or it then: is at some point hammered into your brain.
